Due to the growing international context of judicial activity, comparative law has become a fundamental tool for the interpretation and harmonization of legal systems which is required to face current social challenges.
Therefore, the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice, seeking to better understand the current legal reality in an international context, has organized the Dialogues between Constitutional Judges of Latin America, as well as the Dialogues on the Criminal Justice System with the United Kingdom. As a part of these international encounters, this space was created with the objective of disseminating and making the main topic of both Dialogues, accessible to the public.
The objective of conducting comparative analysis is not merely comparing specific aspects of other legal traditions. Its main focus is to explore and explain the similarities and differences between several legal systems. We perceive diversity as a cultural phenomenon, focusing on the institutions described in comparative law, as well as the social structures and the connections they could have with other fields of Social Sciences.
