The Gender and Access to Justice Standing Commission is currently chaired by Justice Norma Lucía Piña Hernández from the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice.
This Commission is the result of various efforts to promote awareness on the implementation of gender mainstreaming policies amongst the Judicial Branches that participate in the Ibero-American Judicial Summit. Since its inception in 2014, during the Plenary Assembly of the XVII edition of the Summit and as part of the adoption of the Declaration of Santiago de Chile, the Commission has promoted extensive dialogue and research about the incorporation of the gender perspective in the region´s judicial institutions.
